Testimonials

  • Could they have found a cooler place to open a restaurant and lounge? Even the bathrooms scream “cool.”  With a nod to the history of the 1920‘s building, they left several remnants such as the vault door, safety-deposit boxes and teller gates. The Vault has become synonymous with The Bedford these days, as it is now a sought after seat for late night Chicago.

  • Simply the best god damn burger I’ve ever eaten. The flavor of the meat and that incredible bacon jam along with that wonderful fried egg featuring that delicious gooey yolk to mix in with everything else? Heaven, my friends. Simply heaven. So go tonight. Go every night. Get this burger. And then come back, like I’m going to have to do, and try The Bedford‘s other food as well.

  • Occupying the basement level of a former bank, The Bedford retains elements of its past , including walls of safe-deposit boxes , an old bank deposit slip table and two massive, stainless-steel vault doors that lead to a cozy lounge. Between that and the dressed-to-kill eye candy that populates the room, it’s easy to overlook the artfully presented, rustic flavored food that executive chef Mark Steuer puts out. But don’t.

  • The Bedford is the most amazing venue I have ever seen. The space is breathtaking– made out of the remnants of an old bank, full with the vault with the massive door that you want to get locked into. Everything is vintage repurposed and I can’t wait to go back.
